Bob McNair, founder, senior chairman and CEO of the Houston Texans, died Nov. 23 at the age of 81, the NFL team announced.

He “passed away peacefully in Houston today with his loving wife, Janice, and his family by his side,” the Texans posted on Twitter. McNair had battled different forms of cancer over the past several years, notes.

The McNairs moved to Houston in 1960 and made big impacts on the city in different ways, according to his biography on the Texans’ website.
